CHRISTMASFEST Buxton was a Huge Success!

RIVER NETWORK did it’s first of four CHRISTMASFESTs across Derbyshire. For other events check our Eventbrite and our What’s On? page.

These events are fun filled, with interactive games & raffles with families, individuals & children winning toys, food hampers, cash cards, turkey’s and a flat screen TV! It also showcases the charity and engages with community in a non-stigmatised and friendly professional manner.

One participant who struggles with anxiety said “I’m so glad I came and I’ve got all these great gifts for my family for Christmas! I’m also becoming a volunteer” Adam a Foodbank team leader said “These events and our programmes keep getting better & better, it’s totally changed my families life. Now I’m giving back”.

Jade a Community Development Worker who helped organise the event said “I really enjoyed the event, in fact I loved it”.

Jacob another Community Development Worker is looking forward to 2022 and the new partnerships and Community Development work progressing.

Terry CEO enthused “We have such a great team it’s a joy to lead and see people have fun, and genuinely grow and develop- therefore this then cascades into communities”.

The Mayor of High Peaks Ollie Cross said “Thanks so much for inviting me. We’ve had such a great night and I’m so impressed with all you do at River Network”.

The Deputy Mayoress and I had a cracking time at CHRISTMASFEST, organized by the River Network Charity at the Palace Hotel in Buxton tonight.
There were plenty of fun-filled games for both children and adults alike, including an adult dance-off and children’s hula hoop competition. There were also raffles with families, individuals and children winning a variety of toys, food hampers, cash cards, a huge turkey and even a flat screen telly.
It was also great to hear about the diverse range of services, amazing opportunities and excellent work that River Network Charity carries out across Derbyshire. A massive thank you to Terry, Jill, Jade and Jacob for organizing such a wonderful and joy-filled community event.
Gill and I were dead pleased to see folk of all ages thoroughly enjoy themselves tonight. It was a pleasure to meet you all and what a smashing note to end a very busy weekend on.
