Free Cafe Opening in Buxton

We have launched a Community Development Cafe in partnership with a local Buxton church and others in the community of Buxton. Our Community Development Workers will be serving FREE drinks and snacks.

In these trying times, the charity sector is rising up and trying harder and community is still the answer. Whether you want some company, to meet new friends, get some encouragement and support, our cafe will help.

People are not just hungry for food, but also community and friendship with professional support. That is what our young and qualified team offer. It is also a testament to the hard work, initiative and development of Lead Development Worker Jade and the team, who have pioneered this project from the ground up.

Terry Eckersley, CEO

This is why the charity are partnering with the local church and community, as together everyone achieves more. This is the spirit that Buxton, the Peak District and Derbyshire has been built upon, along with hard work, vision, innovation and progress.

The Wonderful team at River Network Charity are setting up weekly fun-filled coffee mornings at Buxton United Reformed Church starting on Tuesday 11th January.
Terry, Jill and the team will ensure that folk will be very well looked after. The amazing work they carry out for the good folk of Derbyshire is utterly inspiring. Their latest venture into the High Peak is bound to be a roaring success.
There will be an array of refreshments and tasty snacks available to everyone who pops along. Whether you just fancy a brew or wish to get more people in your local community involved, it will definitely be worth a visit. All are welcome!

Local Councillor and High Peak Deputy Mayor

The High peak Deputy Mayor was at a recent community event by the charity and was overwhelmed with the generosity, professionalism, warmth and care the team showed.

This is a tremendous opportunity for staff from both organizations and clients. A win-win for everyone!

John Bradwell, Founding Board Member and Trustee

River Network Community Development Workers recently qualified in Youth Work and Housing will be serving coffee, cake and being social, helping bring some normality back into people’s lives again. This really helps serve and meet relational, social and community needs.

We are so honoured to work with the URC Church, especially after putting all our staff through recent qualifications.

Terry Eckersley, CEO

This is so timely and a strategic fit, after all the hard work of both organizations, to see others develop.
