Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts Officially Opens RIVER NETWORK HOUSING PROJECT
– Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts, the Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner, today officially opened the second HMO RIVER NETWORK HOUSING PROJECT, a transformative initiative aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB) and fostering community engagement. The project has received substantial funding to support ASB training programs and community meals, contributing to a significant decrease in local ASB incidents, as confirmed by local Police.
The opening ceremony included an official ribbon-cutting, attended by John Whitby MP, who mentioned the projects in his maiden speech in parliament as a excellent model citing Terry Eckersley as a remarkable person and RIVER NETWORK as a remarkable organisation.
Also in attendance was RIVER NETWORK residents, and key stakeholders dedicated to improving the community. During her opening remarks, Ndiweni-Roberts emphasised her commitment to community safety: “Prevention and diversionary work is a passion of mine, with education, we need opportunities like yours to create lasting change. You are offering hope ! And when you get it right, let’s shout about it ”
